The Vikings didn’’t escape Monday’s loss to the Jets without a few injuries.
Brian Robison was carted off the field after injuring his ankle half way through the second quarter. He was wearing pads when he returned to the sideline, but did not see any more playing time.
Ray Edwards and Percy Harvin each limped off the field at different points but were each able to return to action.
Perhaps the most worrisome injury (other than a certain quarterback throwing arm) is what happened to Cedric Griffin.
Griffin had recently returned to action after recovering from an ACL injury that he suffered in the NFC Championship game against the Saints. Griffin appeared to suffer a similar injury but he told reporters as he left the field, “It’s something new. It ain’t the same (knee).”
Same knee or not, Griffin left the stadium on crutches, and early rumors are that ESPN is reporting he could miss the remainder of the season, although I haven’t seen those reports myself. We should know for sure sometime in the next couple of days.
