Kirwin:

14. Dallas Cowboys

Michael Brockers, DT, LSU: The Cowboys like big people on their line. Brockers fits the mold even though he was work to do after recording just two sacks last year. Maybe Leon Lett can get more out of him. Second round No. 45 -- Amini Silatolu, OL Midwestern State

Brugler

David DeCastro, OG, Stanford: The Cowboys added a pair of guards in free agency (Nate Livings, Mackenzy Bernadeau), but need to continue and add depth on the interior of the offensive line. DeCastro isn't a flashy, household name, but the smash-mouth blocker might be the best guard prospect to enter the league in the past decade. Despite starting all 39 games in his collegiate career at right guard, NFL teams believe he can also be just as effective at left guard or center.

Rang (note, he actually had Brockers listed but clearly meant Gilmore, he had Brockers going a few picks earlier)

Stephon Gilmore: The Cowboys awarded free agent Brandon Carr a $50 million contract in free agency but with depth a concern in a division featuring Eli Manning, Michael Vick and soon-to-be Redskins QB Robert Griffin III, cornerback remains a key area of need. Gilmore has the size, athleticism and physicality to be a standout in Rob Ryan's aggressive scheme.

Prisco

Cordy Glenn, OG, Georgia: They have tried to fill the guard spots in free agency, but this is a step up from the guys they've signed. Glenn is a mauler.

Judge

Michael Brockers, DT, LSU: He might not get this far, but if he does I can't see him getting past the Cowboys. Once a cornerback made sense; then the Cowboys signed Brandon Carr.

Brinson

David DeCastro, OG, Stanford: Jerry Jones recently called his offensive line "compromised" and referred to it as "bankrupt" prior to drafting Tyron Smith and signing Doug Free. What a ringing endorsement! DeCastro would be a starter from the, um, start.

I'm convinced we will not go offense with our first pick. It's going to be the BPA on defense.

My hopes of us drafting DeCastro are gone. Now let's only hope they draft Fletcher Cox.

It'll be one of these players though, Barron, Kirkpatrick, Upshaw. Feh.

Still think they pick DeCastro if he's there.

But the defense needs help too, hard to argue about trying to add to it.

I have my doubts about Barron and Kirkpatrick. We should wait until the third or fourth round to address the secondary.

As far as safety I would almost wait until next year's draft. Bulid the trenches up on the front seven. The more the marrier.

Guess it depends on what they think of Barron. If they think he's a bonafide probowl calibar S, then there's definitely nothing wrong with taking him. We've had problems at that position for several years, and he probably fixes it for a decade.

Saban loves the guy, he's going to get glowing reviews from him and teams will definitely take note.

Neither Gilmore or Glenn would bother me.

Now, I'm not sold on Brockers, Coples, or Poe. I want nothing to do with Ingram either.

Kirkpatrick was a guy I liked, but during my years of message board GM'ing, I've come up with a rule of not drafting players with drug histories.

Basically, my big board looks like: Fletcher Cox, David DeCastro, huge drop off.

If we take Gilmore or Glenn at 14, I start curb stomping nuns.

I can only imagine taking Glenn if DeCastro is gone, and we trade back. I like Glenn, but not at 14. Trade back to the 20's and get an extra 2nd round pick in the process and then draft Glenn, now I can go for that.

I liked Gilmore at #45 moreso than #14.

I have come to the conclusion that I don't know and have no idea.

I just hope at 14 it's an immediate starter who is not overmatched and is a strength.

Getting cute and moving back and that kind of thing is the only turn off to me.

I'm with you on the no idea which direction we will go in.

As far as trading down..normally I hate it, especially with Jerry behind the wheel, but this is a good year to move down. Pretty equal value picks (players) 12 through 20.

On top of that, this draft is loaded with talent in the 2nd through 4th round.

I wouldn't mind a trade down and taking Glenn, but hell to the no at 14.
