Cowboys running back Marion Barber will not play Sunday against Indianapolis, according to an injury report released by the team.
Barber, who missed his fourth consecutive practice Friday, strained his left calf in the final quarter of Dallas' loss to New Orleans on Thanksgiving.
This season, he has rushed for 313 yards and three touchdowns.
Tashard Choice, who has only 14 carries, will see more action against the Colts with Barber sidelined. Meanwhile, a third running back, Lonyae Miller was signed from the practice squad and added to the active roster in an effort to buttress the backfield.
Faced with a fluid situation, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett praised Choice, who has rarely been deployed this season.
"He has a very good feel for running," he said. "He has good vision...and he runs hard."
