Cowboys offensive lineman Tyron Smith has liked the offseason news on the offensive line, from the oldest lineman to the youngest.

Smith said he was happy to see Doug Free return to the Cowboys.

“It’s good to see one of our best come back,” Smith said at Travis Frederick’s beard shaving ceremony at 3 Stacks Smoke & Tap House. “He’s an important part of our group and he’s one of our leaders.”

As for the newest, Smith said first-round draft pick Travis Frederick has fit in well through OTAs.

“He’s fit in pretty well,” Smith said. “He’s a pretty smart guy. He’s picking up on everything really fast. I’m proud of what he’s doing so far.”

Smith all of the sudden finds himself in closer to Free than Frederick in terms of his role on the line. Entering his third year in the league he’ll be one of the more experienced starting offensive linemen. He said he’s up to around 310 pounds, a little heavier than last year.

Again, what is he supposed to say?

Free's back? Well, thatttttt sucks.

Not that you're doing this but I love how certain fans think the player saying good things about anything is proof that all is okay.

I really don't think all of Free's issues were on his not being able to play his position and more to do with the shit that was playing next to him.

I wouldn't say more...Free was TERRIBLE on his own.
