2010 NFL Free Agent Kickers and Punters

By: Roshan Bhagat
Punters:

Ben Graham, ARI – Graham will turn 37 during the season, but is coming off a year where he tied an NFL record with 42 punts downed inside the 20, with only 3 touchbacks all year.

Brandon Fields, MIA – The Dolphins have one of the best young, special teams units. When teams find a good kicker or punter, they typically stick with them.

Adam Podlesh, JAC – Podlesh will look to build off of the best season of his young career. He’s playing on his rookie contract which means he has a long career ahead of him. Good punters rarely sour.

Other Notable Free Agents:
Michael Koenen, ATL
Sam Koch, BAL
Dave Zastudil, CLE
Matt Turk, HOU
Sav Rocca, PHI
Daniel Sepulveda, PIT

Kickers:

Ryan Longwell, MIN – Longwell is still one of the league’s best kickers and remaining in a dome will allow him to get by on his average leg strength and fully utilize his superb accuracy and clutch-kicking.

Stephen Gostkowski, NE – Though not quite an elite kicker, Gostkowski has proven to be one of the more consistent, dependable legs in the NFL. Considering the league-wide struggles of kickers a year ago, the Patriots will most likely look to extend him after.

Phil Dawson, CLE – Dawson has shown displeasure with his $1 million contract this year. As one of the league’s better kickers over the last decade, he will surely have an opportunity to choose his destination should he wish to leave Cleveland.

Other Notable Free Agents:
Mason Crosby, GB
Adam Vinatieri, IND
Nick Folk, NYJ
David Akers, PHI
Jeff Reed, PIT
Olindo Mare, SEA
