One of the most high profile Dallas weddings took place this Saturday at Arlington Hall on Turtle Creek Boulevard, as Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo tied the knot with former Miss Missouri Candice Crawford.
Some highlights of the wedding:
GIFTS FOR THE GUESTS: Monogrammed with the wedding couple's initials, the gift bag contains a Neiman Marcus gift card, assorted treats from Great One Cookies, a Mix of the Month CD by DJ Lucy Wrubel, a miniature bottle of Moet champagne, a box of Dude Sweet Chocolates, gourmet popcorn, chips and salsa, "Killer Pecans" from Bandera Foods, Voss bottled water, and an assortment of Kiehl's beauty and body products. THE FOOD: Short ribs and a pizza bar were on the menu for the reception. During dinner, a video of the couple's proposal played, according to WFAA-TV.
THE WEDDING PARTY: The attendants were a bit more star-arrayed with Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford (brother of the bride), tight end Jason Witten and linebacker Bobby Carpenter serving as groomsmen and Michelle Witten (wife of Jason), Cortney Carpenter (wife of Bobby) and Jossalyn Romo (sister of the groom) as bridesmaids. Chace and Tony’s other sister, Danielle Derose, gave a reading from Ephesians before the vows. The Wittens young son C.J. was the ring bearer.
THE GUESTS: Reportedly, 600 guests attended. Former Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips made the ceremony, as did Jerry and wife Gene Jones; their son Stephen Jones and his wife, Karen; and their daughter, Charlotte Anderson, and her husband, Shy. People Magazine reported Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant attended. We also saw receiver Miles Austin and Leonard Davis there. "This is the most dressed up I've been all year," Davis joked.
THE CEREMONY: The couple wrote their own vows, and Crawford was crying most of the ceremony. Afterward in a covered white tent, the song "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas played. Strands of white lights were wrapped around several trees, and a jazz band played "Beyond the Sea," "Let's Get Lost" and other tunes throughout the night. Romo's teammates "were on the floor dancing the whole time." Source: US WEEKLY
THE GETAWAY: Instead of a limousine, the newlyweds departed in a vintage Cadillac, WFAA reported.
THE CAKE: "The wedding cake was almost as tall as the ceiling. It was huge!" a source told US WEEKLY.
THE FASHION: Crawford's bridesmaids wore Badgley Mischka dresses, and Romo and the men in the wedding party wore custom made Dolce & Gabbana tuxes. "They all wore white jackets and black tuxedo pants," a source said. The party went on until around 2:00 a.m. Source: US WEEKLY
