Would defensive coordinator be considered a step up from secondary coach/assistant head coach?
Would Todd Bowles be a good hire, for defensive coordinator?

DC isn't a step up from Assistant HC, which is a step below HC and above coordinator positions. Usually that's why coordinators are given that tag if the team wants to keep him away from another team's coordinator position.
Okay.
Well . . . Mike Nolan is the DC. Todd Bowles is the AHC/LBC.
I'm thinking Nolan has more clout, and Bowles answers to Nolan.
Therefore, wouldn't logic dictate that being a DC is a promotion?
Logic would dictate that but still he carries a greater tag. To take a coordinator under contract away from a team, you have to promote them, and the only thing higher than Assitant HC is HC.
Jason probably wants him to coach the defense.
That's his excuse for the interview.
