I am not arguing it, I have a rational viewpoint towards it and accept that it will happen in this offense from time to time.

We threw the ball up 20-3 with 13 minutes to go, everyone was happy. Romo led us right down the field, high fives everywhere, romo is god....We get to the goal line we throw a td to witten to make it 27-3.

we then get the ball back with 10 minutes to go in the third quarter and come out throwing, just like 20-3.....Now romo is the devil, jason garrett is stupid.....Exact same scenario, exact same play calls, different result so our guys now suck.

If everyone was ok with us marching up the field throwing the ball up 20-3 they should at least accept that we are going to continue to pass only 2 minutes later in the game......All this just run the ball stuff is fine, I am all for it also....its just not the offense we run or most teams run in this league.....there are very few teams who will just run it and play to win on defense in this league.....

so that is the type of thing I think of when taking an angle on this, I dont understand why romo threw that pick to carpenter but I understand why he threw the other two and I accept the result as a possibility because that is how this offense functions and I had no problem throwing up 20-3.

You're right. There's a disconnect there. I feel the same as the people you describe, only I tend to blame Garrett for his puzzling playcalling rather than Romo going off the rez. Neither viewpoint makes tons of sense when you break it down into "ifs and buts," but you can't blame people for getting frustrated when the Cowboys constantly disappoint by playing well below their potential at the absolute worst of times.

You're right. There's a disconnect there. I feel the same as the people you describe, only I tend to blame Garrett for his puzzling playcalling rather than Romo going off the rez. Neither viewpoint makes tons of sense when you break it down into "ifs and buts," but you can't blame people for getting frustrated when the Cowboys constantly disappoint by playing well below their potential at the absolute worst of times.

I am extremely frustrated by it. For past near decade I have sat in the stands and watched losses created out of thin air that make no sense. I have seen it up close and personal.

I just think that romo is a good player and personally I would not remove him and am not willing to crap on him. I dont think it does any good. He was running the same offense all day.

I will go as far as to say on a couple of the throws particularly the one where he missed ogletree for the TD I think he hesitated and then threw it late because he is trying to play safe instead of just letting it go......he hesitated on the witten int and double clutched on the robinson pick. I almost feel like he was trying to play safe and ended up costing himself.

if he makes that ogletree throw we win the game and we are laughing at carpenter scoring on us as bad karma.

this offense operates in an aggressive manner always has, as soon as they back off and try and be balanced or committ to the run the fans and media that complain about throwing with a lead beg to know why we are not throwing more...

people just have to accept that its an aggressive offense and we will throw until the game is really toast, and with 10 minutes to go in the third that came back against the vikings by 20 the previous week this was not the game to run and punt.

and I say this with the full belief that if they gave me the ability to call plays there I run two sweeps and a screen. I just have accepted this offense and romo and I am not going to be upset when we pass because that is what we do.

I don't have a problem with any of the playcalls. I like the idea of putting your foot on the opponents throat. Besides, running isn't our strength.

My problem with Romo - and why I'm no longer in his corner - is he's just dumb. He gets lost in the moment or whatever. Has no concept of situational football.

Tuck that ball at the 3 yard line vs the Jets. Don't FORCE the ball in tight spaces when you're up huge. Be aware that defenses are going to make adjustments. Just because a receiver was open on one route in the first quarter, doesn't mean he'll be open later in the game.

This is not something he's going to learn if he hasn't learned it by now.

There are times he's on par with Peyton Manning as a QB. But about 10-15% of the time, he's on par with Rex Grossman.

And with that being the case... there is no way I think he can take this team into the playoffs, and remain Good Romo for the two or three games against very good opponents to get to and win the conference or Super Bowl.

I have a problem with the fumble in NY and the interception to carpenter, those plays just make no sense. The fumble is him trying to make a play so it is hard to fault him but he fumbled plain and simple.

I dont believe romo is dumb for a second. I think the only bad read he made was the pick to carpenter...just made a bad read and threw a flat ball.

the rest of the day he was good some late throws but still very good.

Frank walkers holding on third down, Church being awful, witten turning for no apparent reason to the wrong side on that third down throw all were big moments in the game.

I dont for a second think of him as dumb, over aggressive to a fault at times yes but not dumb by any stretch.

I honestly 100% believe we are going to be ok going forward. The reality with romo is there happens to be an enormous amount of people as fans and in the media who are still saying he is not a starting qb in the league, they think he still has to prove to them he is a starter so there is this stigma of this guy sucks after every incompletion or interception.

so for people who think he is not even a quality starter when he has bad moments it gets blown into the stratosphere.

the only way it ends to these types of outspoken individuals is that he wins a super bowl. IF he does they will back off a little, if he doesnt he will be labeled a loser by this type of fan and media member.

everyone else can bail, that is ok with me. I am going to be right there and believe he is going to play well along with an excellent defense and special teams unit and make something good happen this year. I have seen the fan base and media attack him in the past and declare it over.....its not new. He gets this crap when we win too.
