Yeah, I don't judge his whole career on a few seasons. Look what he did in 29 seasons as head coach.
I admit the game past him by, but to say he wasn't the greatest coach we ever had is ludicris.
You didn't grow up watching this guy so your opinion of him is different. Which is fine.
I see it differently. Now does it make me an idiot? No. It's just a difference in opinion.
Well, see that's what I mean.
To say he wasn't the greatest of all time is "ludacris".
As if there can't possibly be anyone better EVER!! cause I grew up watching him and idolizing him. He's the best. Rubber stamped it.
Except you can't refute what I said. He drove the Cowboys down to the point where they were the worst team in the NFL. He had to be fired because he sucked so bad. Your hero. The greatest of all time.
My first memories of the Cowboys were with Landry. I watched the Rams playoff game in the mid 80's. I know the cast of characters that decade.
He's an all time coach. When they write the book of the NFL, there needs to be a Landry chapter. Absolutley.
But he was not the best ever. He wasn't even the best here. IMO, he wasn't the 2nd best here. But he damn sure doesn't touch Bill Parcells. A guy who was turning teams around by his mere presence at an age when Tom Landry was forced out of the league as a has been.
That's reality. All facts.
Maybe it's because I don't hero worship and overrate relics. I put their contributions and accomplishments in their proper perspective.
