Because he has huge cajones and is willing to say the things no one else has the courage to say. He also started the movement to replace the Republican speaker of the house which cause some major rifts and despite the attempt we still wound up with another RINO as speaker. I thought his actions were poorly planned, poorly executed, and the result was potentially worse than what we have before.
Personally, I would rather see someone like Mike Davis or Matt Whitaker in the job. Gaetz also has this ethics complaint that could turn out to be embarrassing for him and Trump. I am passing no judgement until I see the report, but if it is true he had sex with a 17 year old, it puts Republicans in an awkward position. How do we support Gaetz after all the outrage we expressed over pedophiles and groomers in government? Of course we are a long way from that, but there are allegations. Even if the House report does not come out because Gaetz resigned from congress, I am pretty sure Democrats will figure out a way to leak it when confirmation hearings begin.
