So they eyes of conservatives are on Forida and DeSantis and who he will replace Rubio with. Laura Trump has already publically stated that she would accept the job. I'm suspecting that DeSantis may promote an anti-Trumper. This selection will also be very telling of where DeSantis stands on Trump's agenda. He could have been a contender............

It's a temporary appointment until a special election in 2026. Getting as many pro-Trump agenda people in there should be the goal.

There are rumors that DeSantis is considering some who are opposed to many of Trump's policies/agenda, and that would be a huge fucking loss for both our country and for him. If he wants to rebuild his chances nationally, he needs to do the right thing here.

Another rumor is DeSantis might appoint himself or his wife to replace Rubio.

I don't want it because her only claim to fame is she is married to a Trump. I opposed Hillary for the same reason, and Michele Obama. DeSantis will pick a replacement for Rubio and that person will serve until Rubio's term would have been up. Special elections are for the House not for the Senate.

I don't think it will happen because DeSantis is his own man and he will appoint who he favors which is surely not Lara Trump.

I would ignore all the rumors until we see the actual appointment. People are creating noise to sway public opinion.
