If the work visas expire then that doesn't fix the problem. If you don't have a problem with them being here, why do you have a problem with them being citizens?

I don't have a problem with people coming here and wanting to make a better life for themselves and their families & children. if they are law abiding citizens that work and pay taxes like the rest of us, there's nothing wrong with that.

But we know a high % arnt law abiding citizens. We also know a large % come here and get bookoos of government assistance, assistance that's paid for by American tax paying citizens. One major US city is even trying to make it legal for illegal aliens to VOTE here (another attempt) and many support the ridiculous policy of "sanctuary cities"

This is all utter bullshit.

Obviously the process granting citizenship would require a background check. Government assistance is a separate issue, and as I've already said in this thread, I'm in favor of shrinking the safety net. But if the immigrants become tax paying citizens then the collective tax base increases, decreasing the burden on any one citizen.

If they're citizens, they would have the opportunity to vote, and the issue of sanctuary cities would go away. Those would be relative non-issues.

If they come here to work, they should pay taxes. Period.

Not sure I understand your point here.

Sure, I'm fine with citizenship being granted if these people and their children are taken off of any government assistance program and banned from using any government assistance for 15 years.

I will bet any amount of money, less than 10% of the illegals here would opt to not become citizens of this country if it meant that their free ride was taken away.

This isn't about being an American, it's about taking advantage of our stupidity. You see these people waving Mexico's flag at protests? They don't give a flying fuck about this country or becoming a citizen. How is that not clear to people?

this whole sanctuary crap needs to be stopped. Take away all federal funding if you do not obey the laws.

wondering why the liberals always want to ignore our laws. There is a pathway to citizenship that millions have used over the years but somehow those from Mexico deserve different treatment? And notice they claim that those here illegally are not breaking our laws= that from several prominent Dems. They even refuse to call them illegals even if that is exactly what they are.

I would have no problem mobilizing the NG and Reserves and going through this country and throwing out every single illegal. Considering how most of the world handles illegals I wonder why anyone would raise a stink about it.

Now I would also make it a point to seize the property of any business owner who was shown to knowingly employ illegals; or to have ignored and not bothered to check.

I think the next civil war will start in about 5-10 years. Sooner or later something will spark it and it will truly make the French Revolution look like a bar room brawl.

I don't know if The Donald's wall is the answer or even feasible, but I do know something must be done.
In spite of ground sensors, drones, blimps, portable spy outposts, horse patrols,ATV patrols and tripling the field agents people just keep coming.
There are reports in the San Diego area they're starting to catch Chinese illegals.Chinese.
What's worrying and even frightening is a couple of determined and committed guys equipped with night vision and a sat phone could bring over anything the two of them could carry.
Anything.
I mean a group of five illegals from Mexico can easily bring 50 kilos of weed or whatever.Happens every day.

If the work visas expire then that doesn't fix the problem.

Why not? Driver's licenses expire and we get new ones. Passports expire and we get new ones. Foreign visas required to travel to other countries and people get new ones. If folks want to come here to work, then have at it. Not sure why an expiring work visa should deter anyone. Are you detered from getting a DL or passport because it expires?

If you don't have a problem with them being here, why do you have a problem with them being citizens?

Because I value citizenship. I value the gift that it is and not everyone is entitled to it. They don't need citizenship to work in this country or other countries. In addition, no other country with half a brain would offer citizenship to foreigners the way you're proposing. Lastly, being a citizen offers you certain privileges like voting, government employment, etc. I would never give that right away.

Hillary apparently just had a little meeting with the FBI. I hope the only questions they ask her were what kind of accommodations she prefers while sitting in prison. Of course, never going to happen but she would deserve it. I'm quite certain she's a sociopath.

Probably to figure out who will take the fall.

Meh, hard to have a fall guy so there'll be nothing.

She clearly orchestrated the whole thing to avoid FOIA requests. Hard to blame the people you hired to do the shit you asked.

She'll skate and continue to be sociopath.

Yep she will skate and successfully call the whole thing a "republican witch hunt."

And of course the lapdog press and media aren't at all concerned she did this to work around the FOI act. Same way they're not concerned neither Obama or Hillary do pressers where questions are allowed. They have that (D) by their name, so the press and media have no teeth for them. And not even any skepticism. Had it been a (R) it would be the biggest thing since Watergate and we would never hear the end of it. It's truly a scary thought and Ben Franklin is spinning so fast in his grave, he is the sole cause of global warming.

This came right after the little meeting Slick Willy and the Clinton Foundation checkbook had with Lynch

I bet she's 10-20 mils richer today

Annnnnnd.... the other shoe drops. The last vestige of the Charlie Trie Clinton scandal mysteriously dies right before scheduled to testify....

Disgraced ex-UN official’s death ‘conveniently timed’ | Page Six

The death by barbell of disgraced UN official John Ashe could become a bigger obsession for conspiracy theorists than Vince Foster’s 1993 suicide.

Ashe — who was facing trial for tax fraud — died Wednesday afternoon in his house in Westchester County. The UN said he’d had a heart attack. But the local Dobbs Ferry police said Thursday that his throat had been crushed, presumably by a barbell he dropped while pumping iron.
...
Ashe was due in court Monday with his Chinese businessman co-defendant Ng Lap Seng, who is charged with smuggling $4.5 million into the US since 2013 and lying that it was to buy art and casino chips.

Ng was identified in a 1998 Senate report as the source of hundreds of thousands of dollars illegally funneled through an Arkansas restaurant owner, Charlie Trie, to the Democratic National Committee during the Clinton administration. (Ng was not charged with any crime.)

Ng and Trie had visited the White House several times for Democratic fundraising events and were photographed with then-President Bill Clinton and first lady Hillary Clinton.

One source told me, “During the trial, the prosecutors would have linked Ashe to the Clinton bagman Ng. It would have been very embarrassing. His death was conveniently timed.”

The Clintons have made more shit just go away, than the combined output of every toilet on Earth.

Vince Foster was unavailable for comment on this story....

How many of these Clinton skeletons in the closest have now "conveniently" passed away?

I think it's more likely the Clinton's simply wanted the appearance of a conflict of interest to force Lynch to recuse herself. Finding a special prosecutor and dragging this entire situation out past the convention seems like it would create political pressure to find no wrongdoing just to prevent the mess that would follow her dropping out.

Instead, they may have gotten the worst possible outcome. Rather than the possibility that Lynch overrule the FBI recommendation, Lynch appears to be ready to back whatever finding they come up with. Without the meeting she could have backed off on charging Hillary and nobody could really contest it even if they suspected shady shit. With this meeting however, there's no chance in hell that Lynch can overrule the FBI's recommendation.

I don't think they paid her off. I think they were trying to throw her under the bus and force her to recuse herself so they could drag this thing out until it died off. She may have called their bluff.

do you think she does anything without checking with OBAMA first? I think this is the first evidence that Obama is ready to throw Hilary under the bus. Right after in public saying how much he supports her. One thing you learn in Chicago politics is how to survive and Obama learned that well- always have a fall guy or girl handy.

Maybe, but I think the payoff is far more likely
