I just ordered a new copy of "1984" and while I remember reading it a couple of times in the past, I feel compelled to refresh my recollection now. I was taught about this book in 7th grade which was in the 1960s. We were only 20 years removed from the end of WWII and those who fought the Nazis were still young men. Our teachers back then told us about the meaning of the book and that we should always be vigilant because it could happen here or anywhere else. Today, kids don't even read this book, or "Brave New World", or "Fahrenheit 451", other anti-tyranny stories. This is why the 2020s is beginning to resemble the 1930s. Those uneducated of history are doomed to repeat it.

I am lucky in that most of my closest family and friends are conservatives and although some go off on wild conspiracies, most are down to earth independent thinkers. However, I do have some fierce liberals in my family, including my college educated daughter. I do not engage in political discussions with these folks. I love them, but I know I cannot change their minds or educate them with facts. They do not see how brainwashed they are or what conformists they are. They bring up Fox News all the time, which I do not watch, but they source all their thinking from CNN and MSNBC.

One thing that does disturb me greatly though is that most of the liberals I know are extremely ignorant of our founding and our history before and after the revolution. I realize they were never taught Americas true history or about the genius of the founding fathers. The younger ones never read Orwell's "1984" which was mandatory reading when I was in school. And empty brain is easy to manipulate with lies, I guess.

Your family mirrors my family and probably every other family out there. The one commonality I see is that the left leaning members are in the minority but the y promote their message better to make everyone believe they are the majority. I'm not buying it.

Young kids are going to get a rude awakening. One of my youngest daughter's best friend who graduated last year is still unemployed. She was a 4.0 student from a great business school but she can't land a job. I was talking to her the other day and she leans left. These kids can't even see that they're voting themselves out of a job and livelihood.

Maybe I'm a sucker but I like almost everything this guy says:

I dont know he can win and even he somehow did, I cant imagine how he could shut down the various wings of the government like he claims he is going to do but I'd be thrilled if it happened

Its amazing how often after I watch a video like this a commercial pops up for the Biden campaign shilled by Obama or Kamala, I wonder if this happens to videos from Democratic candidates, I've yet to see one ad for republican candidates

He's saying what's been said before that will never happen as the left continues to take over the country with fraud. One day elections and voter ID is nothing new. Most Americans, even Dems, at least agree that we need voter ID. What he can't and didn't acknowledge was the fraud that occurred in 2020 and what he's proposing to see that it doesn't happen in 2024.

I'm not sure that anything can be done to overcome this level of treachery and treason. But what I do know is that we can't stop talking about it and just accept it. It doesn't matter how many people Republicans register to vote. Or how much outreach we have to the young voter. You can't overcome one person dropping off 10,000 ballots in Michigan. It's impossible.

And if one of them did it, you know the real number is probably 1000's and it happened all over the place.

This is exactly right. It is not one person. It is organized because one person cannot possibly come up with this scheme and execute it. It is the same thing when they catch an illegal alien who voted in the last 4 elections. That person got the idea from others who are doing it and have yet to be caught.

We are the only country in the world that keeps making our elections less safe while most other free countries are banning many of the measure we put in place to make it easier to vote - and cheat. Mail-in balloting, for example, is banned in most of Europe. Why? Because they believe it makes it too easy to commit fraud.

Regardless, I LOVE his messaging, he's sharp as a whip plus he's not mean or deliberately provocative when making his case on various issues and I think he can reach the vast middle that exists in this country which if tapped into could elicit MUCH needed radical change. I love this country, its diversity and I dont think we have to have a civil war and that mentality should stop ASAP regardless of which side you're on and anyone that truly believes CW is inevitable should be working tirelessly to make sure it never happens again because like all wars, they're easy to start, difficult to end and always at the expense of lost. lives and injury

Making points at the expense of the other, even when correct, just further divides us as a country so I like the the way he comports himself in this regard and I think he leaves people who might normally knee jerk against all things Republican, sit back, raise an eye brow and possibly even consider voting for him.

Trump isnt nearly as smart and is unnecessarily strident and mean spirited for no good reason IMHO

Maybe he'll be the Vice President and can temper Trump were he to get elected

I thoroughly enjoyed this exchange:

The affidavit of probabe cause for the search warrant in the case we're refering to seemed to be well written from what I saw. It named names of organizations. It's crazy that something like that would be burried in America. There was a search warrant that uncovered more evidence and even firearms. CRAZY!!!

You want to know the sad part Creeper? My family is from Europe and one of my cousins sent me a picture just 2 weeks ago of when they went to vote. Paper ballots dropped into a clear box to ensure they weren't stuffed prior to the voting stations being open. The picture was not sent for any type of political message, but rather my cousin took his young nieces with him and it was more of a family type photo from the village. Other countries take their elections seriously.

I mean, countries like Iraq, where Americans have spilled blood, are trying to prevent voter fraud and used ink to mark a voter's finger so he/she couldn't vote twice.

It's a crying shame what the Left has done to this country......

That is one good measure, but we need voter ID, same day in-person voting and signature verification. To me, election integrity is 100 times more important that getting everyone to vote even if they are generally too lazy to do so.

Signature verification is already a law in many, if not most, states. The problem is that the law isn't followed and when people like Keri Lake raise the issue in court, the courts refuse to acknowledge the issue. The whole system of checks and balances has been corrupted.

Attorney General Garland Announces Special Counsel in Hunter Biden Investigation

BANANA REPUBLIC

Merrick Garland should be executed as a traitor to the country. One of the biggest pieces of shit in the history of our country.

Mitch McConnell is a piece of shit himself, but he got one fucking thing right in his career. Making sure this Communist clown never got onto the SCOTUS.

Where I vote in NJ, I am required to sign a booklet before they give me a little ticket that allows me to get into a voting booth. No one ever compares my signature on that day to the signatures in the their little book from previous elections. It is a joke.

We'll have to see how this plays out. If Weiss goes radio silent for the next 2 years then we know the fix was in. But history tells us, once special counsels are appointed, the results are unpredictable. Often they stumble into facts that take them places the DOJ did not really want them to go. I will exclude Robert Mueller from this because his investigations was a fraud from the beginning. But it did go from investigating Trump collusion with Russia to obstruction of justice in the Comey firing which was a farce as well.

Maybe this Weiss guy got tired of the ridicule for the sleazy plea deal with Hunter. Maybe he got tired of Garland lying about his scope and authority. Now he has a free hand.

Of course this may have been done to tie up Republicans in congress, but Republicans don't have to stop bringing other witnesses.

There are reasons to be suspicious of course. Moving the charges from Delaware to DC could be judge and jury shopping. But I suspect Hunter would already get a sympathetic jury in Delaware. Then again, DC is where Michael Sussman was tried and the jury acquitted him because, according to the jury foreperson, "there are more important things to worry about than lying to the FBI."

If I had to guess, Weiss will move to bring charges quickly. Then request a quick trial date. Then a short trial of maybe a week. Then the DC jury will return a "not guilty" verdict and Hunter will walk free. No one is above the law is a myth now.
