SportsDayDFW.com columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor chatted with fans on Monday and answered questions about the Dallas Cowboys. Here are some highlights:
At this point in his career, do you see Jason Witten being elected to the Hall of Fame after his retirement?
I think he's certainly in the conversation. He's only 28 and just had another 90-catch, 1000-yard season. He also scored a career-high nine touchdowns this year. He's one of the best in his era with Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez being the best. A few more seasons like the one he just had, and it'll happen.
Do you think Garrett will convince Jerry to stay put in one place for training camp?
Nope. He didn't want to deal with the question at his news conference. I assume he'll be fine with Oxnard and San Antonio, but not three different sites or several different time zones. There's a reason no one trains in a bunch of different locations.
What's the window on Tony Romo? I like him a lot and think most Cowboy fans lay too much blame at his feet, but at what point do we say he's Danny White and begin to groom a new QB?
QBs these days play effectively until 36 or 37 or 38. Romo is just 31. He has probably another 3-4 years in his athletic prime as a QB.
