Taylor: No worries, Cowboys' Sean Lee will become a solid player at worst

SportsDay columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor answers a reader's questions about a topic of the day.
Q. Is Sean Lee going to be injury prone? I was concerned about his health when they drafted him, and so far, it hasn't looked good. What other options did the team have when they drafted Sean that they should have considered?
Steve Waddell, Hampton Roads, Va.
TAYLOR: It’s way too early to second-guess who they should have taken with Lee just three games into his career. The Cowboys had him rated among the top 15 players in the draft. Most teams had him ranked between 30-40 because he was coming off a knee injury in his junior season. The Cowboys didn’t think the knee was going to be a problem, so they rated him as though he had no medical condition. We’ll see what happens with Lee. It’s not like Penn State doesn’t churn out good players at linebacker. I would be surprised, when the dust settles, if he doesn’t become a solid player at worst. That’s because he’s smart, tough and athletic. Most players, in the 15 years I’ve covered pro football, with that skill set are pretty good players.
