Taylor: If I were Cowboys coach ...
01:58 PM CDT on Thursday, October 21, 2010

SportsDay columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor answers a reader's questions about a topic of the day.

QUESTION: It is nearly impossible to work on everything at once – so if you were the Cowboys coach – what is the one area you would concentrate on fixing right now and why this area and how would you do it? Jeff Box

TAYLOR: That’s an easy one. The Cowboys have got to fix the penalties. That’s something that is obviously hurting the team, but can be dramatically reduced with better technique and more focus. There are going to be 5-6 penalties every game, but the Cowboys have 23 in the last two games, which is a joke. They brought officials to practice on Thursday in hopes of making the players more aware of the types of penalties some officials call. Penalties directly affected the Cowboys opportunity to win against Tennessee and against Minnesota. This team is 1-4. It’s way past time to work on the details of the game.

Thanks for providing a very vague and useless answer, JJT.

How about enlightening your audience with HOW you would try and reduce penalties.

I don't know how this idiot keeps a job.

Oh wait, it's the liberal DMN we're talking about. I do.

If JJT were giving career advice: I think you should make more money.

If JJT were an Algebra teacher: I think you should solve the equation.

If JJT were a doctor: I think you should keep from getting sick.
