After the game, NBC's cameras captured Cowboys running back Tashard Choice securing an autograph from Michael Vick, the Eagles' dual-threat quarterback who has resuscitated his career this season. Perhaps unaware that his actions caused an uproar among Cowboys fans, Choice explained he retrieved the signature as a favor for his nephew.

"I had to get one for him," said Choice, who played at Georgia Tech when Vick was in Atlanta, where the two were introduced to each other.

On Sunday, Vick didn't author his best performance of the season, but he did complete 16 of 26 pass attempts for 270 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. After the game, Vick was taken aback by Choice's request.

"It's probably the first time it's ever happened to me, but it doesn't surprise me," Vick said.

"I have nothing but respect for him," added Choice, who gained 16 yards on seven carries Sunday. "I admire somebody who can overcome circumstances and come back and prove people wrong."

Figures.

Figures what?

Honestly . . . what's the big deal?

He got an autograph after the game. Is that really that much bigger a deal than these guys all shaking hands, joking around, praying together, etc etc etc after games?

The answer is no.

I hate to sound like sbk . . . but really, only a fan is going to give a shit about this. It's a non-story.

Maybe it's because I can't stand Vick.

Choice could of at least had him sign his glove off camera or towards the locker room.

It just pissed me off to see that just after we lost a rival matchup, then Choice goes over and sucks on Vick's schlong.

Shake hands and go into the locker room.

Well, it's a story to me. Story of a cocksucker getting the autograph of an opposing team's QB that just beat you , AT HOME. In front of "your" fans. It is complete bullshit and Tashard Choice is done in my book. That sombitch wouldn't see Valley Ranch. I would of made him change outside of the Cowboys Stadium.

But, hell. I don't even like when they shake hands after. I hate the egals. Why would I want to do anything other then beat the piss outta them. And if I didn't? It is right to the locker room. Or, after a win? Hell, it is right to the locker room even then.

Roger Staubach STILL hates the Stealers. I am with him.

That would be a moronic personnel decision.

Most of these guys are friends, off the field.

Different era.

Absolutely right.

If it wasn't a big deal, why did Vick say it's the first time something like that has ever happened?

Because it is a big deal. Because players know not to do that. It's inappropriate and a smack in the face of your fan base.

Like I said last night, I hope Choice suffers a career ending injury next sunday.

Chris Carter on M&M said he signed a number of autographs on the field after games during his career, especially later in his career when young players who grew up watching him play asked for them.

He also said that he made it a point to collect things for his son during his career, and that after games he had asked Montana, Aikman, Manning, etc for their jerseys and other items.

Getting an autograph is really no different than all the hugging, smiling, shooting the shit sessions that happen on the field post game.

That it would be. I didn't particularly like it---not enough to foam at the mouth like some fools on this board. If anything, I'm more mad about Chopice fumbling against the Redskins--SOMETHING THAT REALLY MATTERS, than shit like this.

First of all idiot. Most players exchange phone numbers with each other after games and keep in touch. I guess it pisses some of you guys off when a player on one team is severly injured on the field and members from both teams take a knee and pray for the guy. Get a life!

Players do not run and get autographs on the field after games.

If I was wrong, it wouldn't be all over the news today. It's not something you see often.

It was the wrong thing to do. Like when your Mommy decided against abortion.

Choice posts apology for Vick autograph

Bill Nichols / Reporter

Tashard Choice will take much heat for securing Michael Vick's autograph after the Dallas Cowboys' loss to the Eagles Sunday night.

On Monday morning, the running back apologized to fans with this post on Twitter:

``If its anybody that cares about winning and the d cowboys its me. I apologize to the people it was just an innocent jesture for my nephew.''

After NBC cameras caught Choice getting the autograph, he told reporters Sunday night, "I had to get one for him.'' About Vick, Choice said, ``I have nothing but respect for him. I admire somebody who can overcome circumstances and come back and prove people wrong."

Said Vick: "It's probably the first time it's ever happened to me, but it doesn't surprise me.''

It's such a routine thing that Choice is getting drilled for it on ESPN all morning. By former players.

Happens all the time. What's the big deal?

Morons.
