I really wished we'd have replaced this guy. I'm beginning to think thats why he is so up and down, because he's mentally challenged. This is a really dumb statement IMO, he's commenting on guys being released:

IRVING — When news of center Andre Gurode’s release filtered out to the practice field Monday at Valley Ranch, Cowboys players didn’t express shock or surprise. Instead, they said the move reinforced the belief that football is a cutthroat profession, and the NFL mercilessly discards even its most accomplished players.

“The league is always like that, no matter where you are,” safety Gerald Sensabaugh said. “It’s always you getting pressured by younger guys. Guys step up and start playing a little bit better. You have to keep your game going on all cylinders. This league is very competitive.”

Nevertheless, Sensabaugh seemed perplexed by the move, saying, “Guys are getting moved around and I don’t know why.”

Before training camp, the Cowboys released guard Leonard Davis, tackle Marc Colombo , receiver Roy Williams and running back Marion Barber. Gurode, a five-time Pro Bowler and the longest-tenured member of the team, was the latest high-profile veteran to go.

“Andre was a good player for a long time,” Cowboys tight end Jason Witten said. “We all know it’s a business and you’ve got to keep going with it. It’s a tough call.”

Can't stand Sensabaugh but that quote doesn't bother me at all. The Cowboys plan this off-season, or lack thereof one, is perplexing.

He doesn't know why there's so much turnover? I guess going from 11-5 and winning a playoff game to 6-10 has a little something to do with it.

The plan seems pretty clear to me. Remove all dead weight. Of course you can't remove all of it in one setting or half the roster would need to be churned.

Then maybe you're as mentally challenged as he is.

What's so perplexing about having accountability and competition?

I'm not sure where his head is, but I'm glad we only signed him for 1 year.

He's a guy who grossly over-estimated his value and expected a huge pay day. I imagine he's disgruntled slightly that he had to sign here for relative peanuts.

As (over)stated by me several times, cutting Gurode now doesn't make a ton of sense. If they would have cut him when they booted Bigg and Colombo, I still wouldn't have liked it, but it would have made more sense. He isn't a locker room cancer and from everything I've read or heard, liked by his teammates. It just seems like a strange move by a team that doesn't seem sure what direction they are headed in. Are we contenders or are we rebuilding? I'd be confused if I was a veteran player on this team right now.

Colombo was a model citizen in the lockerroom too.

I can't jump on board the issue of timing between the other overpriced vets getting cut to when Gurode did. It's all just dead weight being dropped to me.

Like the accountability we have with Dave Campo, Alan Ball, Igor Olshansky, Keith Brooking, and Gerald Sensabaugh and their performances from last season?

Or the competition we had at left guard this training camp?

I dont know why this is so hard for you to grasp. I doubt they felt Costa would really beat out Gurode, they had to see him do it everyday in camp and then in the preseason games before they knew. It would have been painfully dumb to cut Gurode without knowing what Costa could or couldnt do.

Colombo and Davis were washed up guys taking up too much cap space. Gurode was still a quality player, but was beaten out and at that point, had too high a cap charge.

Rob Ryan said Dave Campo was one of the best DB coaches in the league.

Olshansky is likely to be gone by Sunday. Brooking might be and even if he isnt, likely is 2nd team at best. Ball was replaced. They only resigned Sensabaugh after looking at other options first.

So you believe that Campo is one of the best DB coaches in the league?

Give me a list of all the DB coaches, then I'll decide.

My first instinct is no, but I dont think he's as bad as some of you make him out to be either. There's a reason he never has a problem getting an asst coach job around the NFL.

and Brooking............

then again everyone's hero here ,Sean Lee hasn't shown anything so we might keep him another year.

I just hope our 2nd round pick can play at some time this year and show something.

I think Lee has been better than both James and Brooking. At least he can move around. Lee's also been close to making alot of plays, you cant say the same for the other two.
