IRVING, Texas -- Should the lockout end this week, giving teams a window to sign its own free agents, then the Cowboys will have to deal with a different dynamic regarding their top to unrestricted free agents.

Defensive end Stephen Bowen recently hired Pat Dye as his agent after spending the last few years with Jordan Woy. Left tackle Doug Free is represented by Jimmy Sexton, who partners with Dye at SportsTrust Advisors.

The firm also represents free agent defensive end Marcus Spears.

The Cowboys have said Free is their top priority to re-sign and Bowen is a must to keep because of his versatility and need along the defensive front.

Dye and Sexton have productive histories with the Cowboys. Dye came to a deal with the Cowboys in 2009 with DeMarcus Ware on a lucrative extension. Sexton also represents Jason Witten, Bradie James and Marc Colombo.

When players switch up to more high profile agents right before they are set to negotiate deals, you bet your ass that they're going to want a lot.

Let him walk. He's done less that Chris Canty, and now he wants big money?
