Is Week 2 too early for a must-win game?

Probably but Wade Phillips raised the sense of urgency of his team today when he met with the players. He accepted the blame for the end-of-half miscue and he told them how important it is to return to form Sunday against Chicago.

"We've got to do better, no matter what," Phillips said. "To get better we've got to attack the mistakes we made and not just go over the mistakes we made but attack the mistakes we made. And we've got to hold together as a team. It's not the end of the world. It seemed like it at the time and I feel like it today, but it's not. We can bounce back from this and we've got to, to have a good team this year that we want to have. We've got to bounce back this week and pick up the pieces and go forward. The only thing you can do anything about is this ballgame and we've got to do something about it. And we've got to do something about it right now."

The Cowboys haven't lost their first two games of a season since 2001 when they finished 5-11. The last time they went 0-2 and made the playoffs came in 1993 when they were missing Emmitt Smith, who was in a contract dispute. Oh, yeah, that team went on to win Super Bowl XXVIII.

I disagree, I think it kills us if we go down 0-2, but hey, I'm the one who said Barron could be our starting right tackle.

0-4 kills the Cowboys. Even more so in the division. Course, hopefully all the NFC teams that won last week, lose this week and Dallas wins.

But, yes, Sunday is a must win. EVERY game is a must win. That never changes.

We can take some solace that a lot of contenders lost in week 1.Minny,Indy,SD,NYJ and even the Niners.

However,the Saints,the Giants and Pack all won,and those are the assholes that matter to us right now.

Having said that,I hate calling game 2 a must win.

But it looks that way to me.

I think Sunday is a must win. I don't want to go 0-2 facing the Texans and then either finish at 0-3 into the bye week. A win against the Bears could have a great momentum boost.

, Not by me. In another football pick ems I am in, I didn't pick the Boys to win. I thought this game against the Deadskins would of been a wake up call for them. And how it was.

We can only hope this happens. I'm sure we will play a lot better offensively against the Bears.

It sure is if they go on a losing streak, only to get back on one at the end and come up short because they didn't win a game in September. They ALL matter.

No shit it's been done over the years.

Doesn't mean that this team can do it. This team still has work to do. And I posed a hypothetical.. Never stated it was a death sentence. And, I am also not the one on here bitching and moaning after losing to a terrrible Deadskins team and screaming fucking chicken little.

Maybe you are fine with playing for ties, or maybe you are okay with having the excuse, "Well, the didn't HAVE to win that game, so no big deal"..
