Alfred Morris ran angry last night. I love the Ezekial Elliott selection from a dumb fan perspective. Just because I love offense, I love the idea of a premier back. Etc.

But we're loaded at running back. McFadden sucked his way to 1400 yards behind this line.

Alfred Morris has looked like his rookie self behind this line.

Even Darius Jackson has been impressing a lot of people.

Now I know EE is a cut above these guys, natural talent wise. But our defense is putrid. And our running game would be dominant with or without EE.

Obviously hindsight and has been rehashed but I wish we had gone Ramsey another defensive position at #4.

We'll see asshat.

Morris signed a 2yr deal and while has he looked outstanding, he does have a lot of mileage already. He's also not an explosive play guy. he isn't much of a threat to break off 50-60-70 yd plays and while he appears to have improved as a receiver, he isn't a natural at it. McFadden is old and only has 1 yr left on his deal, and also left a lot of yards on the field last yr (as did Murray in 2014 to some extent)

I also don't agree our run game would definitely be "dominant" without EE. It wasn't "dominant" last yr and failed in far too many short yardage situations. The run game was "good" last yr.

I think you are focused on the wrong pick, Midswat.

If you want to criticize the 2016 draft, look at the Jaylon Smith pick ... a pick that only Jerry the wildcatter would make. The team needed defensive help this year. Not a lottery ticket.

At least Elliott will contribute.

Personally I still like the Zeke pick. With a pick that high you should be walking away with a franchise QB or a superstar player. I was never on board with taking Ramsey. If Myles Jack had been healthy he would have been my guy but this he wasn't and this team already has enough players with "injury history". Early in the draft process I was leaning towards a DT like Buckner but the more I learned about him I realized he wasn't a natural fit for a 4/3 defense. The best option on the board was Zeke.

Morris has looked great but no one knew he would play this well. He's been on a 3 year decline. He's also not known as a pass catcher or a blocker (even he has looked good at both so far). DMC had over a 1,000 yards but also only had 3 rushing TD's.

Well, let's see.

Bosa still hasn't practiced. Ramsey would be another Claiborne. That leaves who at #4 with the chops for that selection? I'm with Zero on this. The Jaylon pick, pissed me off and still does. While I'm not exactly throwing a parade that Zeke was the pick, no one was trading with us and taking Lynch at #4 after seeing Dak play? Yeah... I'm sick of picking project players for Defense or Tight ends that never play, year after year in the 2nd round. That's the pick the got my goat. That kid may NEVER play a down.

I would have preferred Myles Jack with that second pick over Jaylon Smith.
