An article I just read shows the Cowboys having $9.6mil of cap space for next season. If we can get rid of Carr that number jumps dramatically. We are ranked at 22nd in cap space.
"Cap space: $9,678,361. The Cowboys are in decent shape with respect to the cap. They have 19 of last year's starters under contract and 61 in total. The Cowboys are going to have to maneuver to make some moves to improve the defense. Morris Claiborne, Greg Hardy, and Jeremy Mincey are among 15 free agents that can leave or be resigned. Dallas also owns the #4 overall draft pick, and we would expect them to go defense."
But of all the teams Oakland has over $60mil to play with this off season and is ranked #1
That's a scary number and with the flashes of success they have shown last season they might be able to entice some big names to the Dark Side!
"Each team is ranked with respect to Estimated Cap Space, Signed Starters, and Percent of Cap $ allocated to starters, to formulate a Future Power Ranking for 2016. Cap space: $60,988,823. It's scary to think about how good the Raiders were at times this year, how young they are, and now how much cap space they have available in 2016. The Raiders are number one overall in our financial power ranking, and have 17 of their 2015 starters under contract for 2016. They have a massive $60,988,823 in available cap space to work with, a young crop of stars, and their 17 retained starters make up 83.56% of their overall cap total thus far. The defense will be losing Charles Woodson to retirement this offseason and beleaguered OLB Aldon Smith tops the list of 13 free agents. The Raiders biggest needs to address in 2016 begin with the defense at safety, and an offense they need to upgrade the tackle position."
