An article I just read shows the Cowboys having $9.6mil of cap space for next season. If we can get rid of Carr that number jumps dramatically. We are ranked at 22nd in cap space.

"Cap space: $9,678,361. The Cowboys are in decent shape with respect to the cap. They have 19 of last year's starters under contract and 61 in total. The Cowboys are going to have to maneuver to make some moves to improve the defense. Morris Claiborne, Greg Hardy, and Jeremy Mincey are among 15 free agents that can leave or be resigned. Dallas also owns the #4 overall draft pick, and we would expect them to go defense."

But of all the teams Oakland has over $60mil to play with this off season and is ranked #1

That's a scary number and with the flashes of success they have shown last season they might be able to entice some big names to the Dark Side!

"Each team is ranked with respect to Estimated Cap Space, Signed Starters, and Percent of Cap $ allocated to starters, to formulate a Future Power Ranking for 2016. Cap space: $60,988,823. It's scary to think about how good the Raiders were at times this year, how young they are, and now how much cap space they have available in 2016. The Raiders are number one overall in our financial power ranking, and have 17 of their 2015 starters under contract for 2016. They have a massive $60,988,823 in available cap space to work with, a young crop of stars, and their 17 retained starters make up 83.56% of their overall cap total thus far. The defense will be losing Charles Woodson to retirement this offseason and beleaguered OLB Aldon Smith tops the list of 13 free agents. The Raiders biggest needs to address in 2016 begin with the defense at safety, and an offense they need to upgrade the tackle position."

Getting rid of Carr is the easiest, low hanging fruit a team has ever had in an off season immediately following a train wreck. It is a no brainer from a cap as well as performance perspective. Any idiot Madden GM would easily come to the right conclusion in this situation. Therefor, I expect Jerry to keep Carr.

Last year doesn't count and we were 12-4 the season before so obv we don't need to make a bunch of changes.

Who knows at this point what they will do, really... But so far it feels like they're almost so determined to show that last year was a fluke that they're going to change as little as possible to "prove" it.

I can't believe Jerry didn't even woodshed a coach. Entire staff back after this year is just weird.

I have a feeling our DB coach will be gone. Not because we get rid of him but because he will move on to another team. Maybe a step up to DC

But it sure doesn't seem like the FO is out to make any changes. Let alone impact ones like a new coach at any position

Jax passed him over for another DC. he's interviewing with Atlanta but not for a DC job.

Our DB play has sucked since he has been here. I don't care how "well thought of" he is, the results flat out suck.

Some other team was taking a look at him too

I don't care who takes him. I just hope it's sooner rather than later

He either sucks as a coach or our players suck at football. Somewhere there's a disconnect. It's probably a bit of both.

I just want him gone. Maybe our secondary can improve under a fresh coach. It sure can't get much worse

Cleveland supposedly interviewed him for their HC job. I doubt he ever had any real chance at that. And their new HC chose Ray Horton as DC.

There was one other team too. I just don't remember which one. But the interview already happened so it looks like we might be stuck with him for another season

Perhaps the 12-4 season doesn't count and last year is more where we are? Then we'd need to make massive changes... starting with our lame coaching staff

Apparently the Falcons are hiring him according to Rappaport

Saw some stuff that Safeties coach Joe Baker will take over the entire secondary now. Super excited about that. Glad Henderson is gone but JFC do something to improve. Joe Baker has not made the safeties any better the last few years. Why on earth would the FO think he should be given more responsibility.
