As has occasionally been their practice when it's too cold or nasty outside, the Cowboys held a walkthrough of sorts inside the cheerleaders' dance studio at Valley Ranch on Thursday.

In attendance were coaches Jason Garrett, Rob Ryan and Dave Campo. Representing the players were linebackers Bradie James, Keith Brooking, Sean Lee and Terence Newman. Presumably, this was one of Ryan's first days of teaching his defense to his new players.

At this point in the offseason, players aren't mandated to attend workouts at Valley Ranch, or interact with their coaches, but some still come into the office on their own for those very purposes.

Though a couple of them might have somewhat uncertain futures given their age and contract status, all four of the players taking part in Thursday's tutoring session are signed through at least 2011.

It wasn't the first look at Ryan's scheme for all of them, however. Even before the Cowboys had named him defensive coordinator, Lee requested clips of Ryan's Browns from the Valley Ranch film department, to start learning what would be required of him under the new boss.

The scary part is, Campo actually might end up sticking around. There doesn't seem to be any other secondary coaches out there that we're reaching out too.

I'd want to say that if we kept Campo, I'd place my trust in Garrett and Ryan, but hell... that's asking a lot.

Bad enough we're keeping Houck.
