Roy Williams says he's most consistent WR

IRVING, Texas -- Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams is fifth on the team in catches (32), fourth in yards (469)
and tied for second in touchdowns (five).

You could say Williams is having a decent year, far better than 2009 when he had 38 receptions for 596 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games.

On Monday, Williams said he's been the Cowboys' most consistent receiver in 2010.

"If you cut the tape on, I'm there," Williams said. "You cut the tape on No. 11, [he] is there on the film being consistent from week one to [now]. You can take it all the way back to training camp if you want to."

You could say Williams had one of his better games of the season on Thanksgiving Day when he caught five passes for 83 yards and made a nice downfield block on a 60-yard run by Miles Austin. But Williams' fumble deep in New Orleans territory led to the Saints scoring the game-winning touchdown.

A Cowboys scout said he can understand where Williams is coming from because he has played well. As a unit, the wide receivers have been consistent, just not collectively. Williams is doing all the right things and while at times he's been taken out of games, either by the defense or the type of play call, he isn't considered a liability on offense.

"I feel in my opinion, the most consistent wide receiver that we have [here], if you ask me," Williams said. "Not trying to toot my own horn, I'm just calling how I see it."

He's right in a way. At least it isn't like playing with only 10 players on offense with him in the lineup like it was last year.

I don't care if this 80-toothed fuck leads the league I want him and his huge mandible gone next year.

He's a fucking loser with a loser's mentally and he shouldn't be on any team looking to win anything.

You need to have three good WRs in this league.

If Roy goes, who replaces him exactly? Sam Hurd? Kevin Ogletree?

I'd keep him.

Look around the league. It's not hard to find 3 effective receivers.

Check the distribution thread from a week ago. Our QBs are targeting Roy to a near 100 QB rating. The same as what we get from Miles Austin. The guy is quality. You can't easily replace that kind of player as your 3rd wideout.

Fans are overreacting to a poorly timed fumble.

The fumble sucked, But, I just wish he would shut up and he is tootin his own horn. And after a loss that he didn't actually help in. I keep Roy, no doubt. He is making plays, maybe is the most consistent. And, he should be, he has more playing time in the NFL then either Austin or Bryant. Bryant has probably hit that "slump" that every rook seems to hit. He just has to get over it. But, when not in the slump, he was definately outplaying Williams. All three get on the same page with Romo? And Dallas actually gets an O-line? Could be some good things. Course, Williams will probably be an old man by then.

I'm a fan of Roy and I hope we find a way to keep him. But like Plymkr, I wish he'd stop talking to the media.

I can blame him for the fumble. Only a moron doesn't wrap the football up with both hands there.

But that doesn't mean I want to release him.

I'm not talking about the fumble, just the fact that you don't need to spend 5-6 mil a year to have a quality 3rd WR. Hell, all you need is a one who runs good routes, catches the ball well and has a good rapport with the QB. Just look at Deion Branch. He sucks everywhere but in New England because him and Tom Brady work together so well.
