Rookie Sean Lee spent far less on Cowboys defense dinner than Dez Bryant

By now you've probably heard that Cowboys rookie Dez Bryant pumped nearly $55,000 into the local economy when he helped pick up the tab at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse.
He got hit a lot harder than second round pick Sean Lee.
"We had our rookie dinner a week before,'' linebacker Keith Brooking said. "It wasn't near as expensive.''
One of the Cowboys traditions -- that sounds much better than hazing -- is that the rookies on each side of the ball are expected to take the veterans out for a nice meal. A very nice meal. The highest draft pick on each side of the ball picks up the majority of the tab, but the other rookes are also expected to chip in.
That is the meal that took place at Pappas earlier this week, an outing that came to $54,896. Lee and the defensive rookies had their meal in the days leading up to the Houston game. Their total:
"I think we treated him, I would characterize it as fair,'' Brooking said. "We were fair with Lee. We weren't too hard on him.
"We weren't very nice, either. But it was fair, I think.''
What did the principals have to say about the offensive spending spree? Receiver Roy Williams declined to talk to the media, saying he wanted to stay under the radar. Bryant was not in the locker room during media availability.
