Looks like next year is going to be the year we're really aggressive in free agency. SJ seems to make making alot of manuevers with 2012 in mind. I could see a defensive overhaul next yr via free agency and the draft.
Romo gets deal restructured
The Cowboys restructured Tony Romo’s contract, saving them $6.55 million on the 2011 cap.
The quarterback had been scheduled to make a $9 million base salary. The Cowboys restructured it by giving him an $8.1 million bonus, leaving a base salary of $810,000.
Romo’s cap hit in 2011 went from $12.96 million to $6.4 million.
Dallas previously had reworked the contracts of receiver Miles Austin and linebacker DeMarcus Ware to clear cap space. The Cowboys now have $18 million in cap space this year, most of which will be rolled into next year to offset the dead money they have tied up in cutting veterans Marion Barber, Marc Colombo, Leonard Davis, Andre Gurode and Roy Williams.
