To win Sunday’s game in Minnesota, QB Tony Romo made it rather clear as he spoke to the media here Thursday in the locker room.

“We have to play our best football to win,” Romo said. “It’s going to be a tough place to play . . . tough environment. But we’re going to have to play our best.”

And that hasn’t always been the case for this team, even on the road. The Cowboys have been fortunate enough in the past to win games without their “best” effort. A few turnovers here and there they can overcome. Or penalties and mistakes have surfaced in the past, and the Cowboys have figured out ways to win.

But for this win Sunday, Romo is basically calling for a perfect game, something we haven’t seen in a while.

“We did have a very good day of practice (Wednesday),” said Romo, a few minutes before he takes the field for Thursday’s practice. “So we’ll see if that’s a start. Our situation isn’t something I’ve gone through a ton. We just have to keep working to get better. We’re trying very a hard to correct these problems . . . hopefully it starts this week.”
