IRVING, Texas -- Assistant head coach Jimmy Robinson has been on the Cowboys coaching staff for less than a week but he has already had one get-to-know-you session with Dez Bryant.

Robinson did not know the specifics of Bryant’s rehab from a fractured right ankle, but “I’m pretty sure it’s coming along as planned.”

Bryant missed the final four regular-season games because of the injury. He missed his rookie season with 45 catches for 561 yards and six touchdowns. He also returned two punts for touchdowns.

Robinson has coached receivers in the NFL since 1990, spending the last five seasons in Green Bay, where he had one of the best groups of wide outs in the league in Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson and James Jones.

Robinson said he likes the look of the Cowboys group with Miles Austin, Bryant and Roy Williams, but Bryant’s development will be the most watched. Robinson studied Bryant coming into last year’s draft but he has not looked at film of him in 2010 yet.

“He’s a guy I think that as time goes by can show he can do it all,” Robinson said. “It’s my job to help him do that. It’s going to be a gradual process but again I’m anxious for the opportunity.”
