Rob Ryan, the new Dallas Cowboys' defensive coordinator, left open today the possibility of a reunion with Shaun Rogers, his nose tackle with Cleveland during the last two seasons.
Cleveland released Rogers last week after an injury-riddled season. Rogers started only once, in the season-ending 41-9 loss to Pittsburgh, and participated in a career-low 17 tackles. Despite that, Ryan said he expected there to be a strong demand for Rogers.
"Shaun's a great player, and he's a super talent,'' Ryan said. "So I'm sure he'll have a lot of interest in a lot of places.''
Ryan danced around the subject when asked if he had recommended Rogers to the Cowboys. Ryan did make it clear that he thinks well of Rogers.
"If you're not interested in him, ... I don't know,'' Ryan said.
