Rex Ryan couldn't resist taking a few good natured jabs at the Cowboys defensive coordinator.

Call it brotherly love.

Rex and Rob Ryan have had several opportunities to talk since Rob joined the Cowboys. When asked what Rob's expectations are for the Cowboys defense, Rex didn't miss a beat.

"Well, I think he expects to be second in the league in defense,'' Rex cracked.

The Cowboys actually finished second to Rex's defense with the New York Jets in 2009. If Rob can get the Cowboys back to that level in his first season with the team, it will be quite an accomplishment.

"His scheme is a little different than ours,'' Rex said of what Rob will implement with the Cowboys. "He does a few things different.

"But he's a great coach. There's no question about it. I'll be excited to see what he does with some of the talent that they have there.

"That's a very talented football team. I'll be excited about watching them.''

So, is it true the only reason Rob took the job is because the Cowboys play the Jets next season?

"That would be a reason he wouldn't want to take it,'' Rex said.

I know that's some brotherly ribbing but I'm all for sloppy 2nd's. That would be leaps and bounds better compared to being 23rd(?) in total yards allowed in 2010.
