And I am sharing it with all Universors.

I have seen the future, and it's a return to the Jimmy Johnson days of being smart while taking risks at the same time.

We will trade Micah Parsons sometime before the NFL Draft, to the New England Patriots. Parsons will get his tractor trailer load of cash and play for a defensive minded former NFL LB Head Coach, who's iconic legend and former HC is on the record as saying he believes is the closest thing to Lawrence Taylor he has seen since he has been in the league. The Patriots buy into that as they have Josh Allen and the juggernaut Bills to contend with and they believe Parsons, along with all the other free agents they signed puts them into position to be a problem for the Bills.

The Pats pay dearly. They give us their 1st this yr (4th overall), their 2nd this year (38th) and 4th this year (106) along with next year's 1st and 4th round picks. On draft night, we watch at the Titans take Cam Ward, the Browns take Abdul Carter and then the Giants, desperate to get their QB of the future surprise some people and take Jaxson Dart, who has overtaken Prime Slime's kid on many boards as QB 2.

While our Johnny Walker Walker GM and Spawn celebrate because we are landing the premier CB AND WR prospect in Travis Hunter, Brian Schottenheimer and Will McClay pick up the phone and call Jacksonville about the 5th pick overall, and we send our 1st (12th overall), 2nd (from Pats #38) and our first 5th rd pick (149) in return. We now have the 4th and 5th picks, and we nab the top two players in the 2024 Heisman voting in Hunter AND Ashton Jeanty.

With Jones and Spawn passed out completely from excessive Johnny Walker chugging, McClay is still watching the draft board. Still armed with plenty of picks he sees Tennessee Vols pass rusher James Pearce Jr surprisingly fall into the 20's, and he calls the Vikings at 24. We flip our 2nd (44) and next years 1st (our own, we still retain the pick from New England) and move into this spot, nabbing the potential Parsons replacement James Pearce Jr.

We have ended the night having one of the biggest 1st rounds in the history of the NFL. The remaking of the roster has begun and we have landed three of the premier players at their position in this draft. Jerry can finally say he's made decisions like a competent GM.

If only. However there IS some strange vibe that makes something like this seem possible. Jimmy might not be in the building but he IS a consultant now.

After my haul on Day One we still have picks #76, #106, #171 #174, #204, #211, #239 and #247.

No picks in Round 2 after our trading.

3/76: C Jared Wilson, Georgia: Best C in draft, allows us to potentially move Cooper Beebe back to his natural G spot and our interior OL is set for years to come.

4/106: QB Quinn Ewers, Texas: Not my favorite QB in this draft but this is the way the draft board fell. Gives us a major college starter who is used to playing in big games. May never be more than a primary backup QB, but we need one of those and he has better developmental skill than Cooper Rush ever had.

5/171: LB Jack Kiser, Notre Dame: Proven starter on high quality Notre Dame defense. Good in space and is also a decent blitzer. Very strong tackler. Will be in the mix as a primary backup and core special teamer in year one. Starting potential down the road.

5/174: OT Jack Nelson, Wisconsin: 6'7, 320lbs similar frame to a former Cowboy RT, Marc Columbo. Like Columbo he plays with a nasty streak and works hard. Wisconsin OL almost always end up being decent pros because they are well coached there.

6/204: CB Zah Frazier, UTSA: Big kid at 6'2 an 190, strong cover and tackling skills...solid small school CB we can develop for a year or two. We need CB's as Diggs may never be the same (or even play), Bland is in the final yr of his deal and might be too expensive to keep and Kaiir Elam is a lottery ticket that may or may not pay off.

6/211: DT Simeon Barrow, Miami: Highest rated player still left on the board, doesn't have imposing run stuffing size but is productive against the run and pass. Has upside.

7/239: RB Jordan James, Oregon: Had a huge yr for Ducks and impressive cutting/slashing ability, also a TD machine. Good depth behind franchise RB Jeanty

7/247: DT Nazir Stackhouse: Unlike Barrow, Stackhouse is built like a truck and difficult to move at 6'3, 327. Another developmental DT to add to the DL.

It's a quality haul of upper level talent and roster replenishing numbers in general. Hunter and Jeanty are both consensus top-5 (or even higher) player in this draft. Pearce needs to bulk up a little but certainly has the frame and already has excellent pass rush skill. Wilson has a chance to start as a rookie at C and certainly could be a starter by year two, we'd have the makings of a really strong interior OL for years to come. The others all fill depth roles and many have quite a bit of upside for the future.

Now the question is, is it really doable or just fantasy? The answer is that it IS doable and somewhat realistic based on the trade value chart.

I used past elite player trades, different commentary from people that cover the league and then finally AI to come to Parsons value. Parsons is young and considered elite and his value certainly equates to at LEAST two top-10 overall picks, but nobody has that in a single yr, so it will have to be picks over two (or even three) seasons. The picks we acquired from NE were worth 1800, 520 and 82 pts this year. Next yrs picks were a 1 and 4, which for trade value purposes equates to a 2nd and 5. this would be 2402 pts for this year plus 602 for next yr (assumed NE same draft position for 2026) so a total of 3004 pts. The Titans #1 overall pick is valued at 3000 alone.

Next, is the trade up from 12 to 5 doable? Assuming Jacksonville wanted to do it, their pick is worth 1700, our #12 pick is worth 1200. The difference I made up by including the 2nd we got from New England (worth 520) and I also included our first 5th rd pick (149, worth another 32 pts) to sweeten the deal a little. We overpay slightly, but we may have to because Chicago sits at 10 and has two 2nd rd picks of their own, and they supposedly want Jeanty as well. The Raiders are only one pick back and could easily flip something to move up 1 spot, so its likely we'd have to overpay a little to get the deal done.

Lastly, I sent our 44th pick in the 2nd and one of our 1sts from next yr to the Vikes at 24 to get the pass rusher we need for now and long term. 44 is worth 460 pts and our 1st next yr would be valued around 400 pts. The Vikes pick at 24 is valued at 740pts. We've overpaid again but 44 to 24 is a pretty big jump and we didnt have to include any other picks from this draft. We also get the added value of the 5th yr option for Pearce.

The other picks were made using one of the available mock draft generators based on who was available at the spots we had remaining.

One change I thought about after the fact was not using our 12th pick to move up 5, and instead using that pick as-is or maybe trading down a few spots. If we did that, we'd still have the 2nd rd pick from New England and theoretically could have used that as part of the trade up for Pearce instead of next years 1st. Then we have two 1st rd picks next yr and might be able to be in better position for our next franchise QB. We don't have Jeanty but maybe we move down a few spots and take Omarion Hampton, or take Kelvin Banks and plug him at RG this yr. We then could use our own 2nd on someone like Traveyon Henderson or maybe K State RB DJ Giddens, who our OL coach knows quite well as he coached him there.

So it's doable. Doubtful Jerry and Spawn would put in the effort or have the balls to actually do something like this, which is too bad because the team could use the significant roster makeover.

Leave it completely to Clay and Jimmy makes a winner. I'm impressed with your mastery of Jimmy's draft and trade value formula. You might be a guy they need in the room too.
