Police are investigating a claim that Giants defensive tackle Jay Bromley attempted to rape a woman he had just met on Instagram at a swanky Midtown hotel early Saturday, the New York Daily News reports.
Bromley, 23, picked the 26-year-old woman up at her home early Saturday after meeting her on the picture sharing site, police sources said.
He took her to the Hyatt Herald Square Hotel on W. 31st St., where they got a room.
Once in the room, the woman performed oral sex on Bromley but then didn’t want to go further, sources said.
“At that point, something took place that she didn’t want to take place,” a police source with knowledge of the investigation said.
The woman claimed the hulking 6-foot-4 Bromley “became violent” and tried to rape her, sources said.
When the two parted ways a short time later, she demanded the football star drive her home but he refused, the sources said.
She jumped on top of the hood of his vehicle to stop him from leaving but he kept driving down the street, police sources said. The woman fell off the hood a few moments later, injuring her knees and legs.
The woman called police about 4 a.m. and was taken to Bellevue Hospital where a rape kit was performed, police sources said.
NYPD Special Victims Squad detectives were investigating the allegations, officials said.
Bromley was not in police custody Saturday afternoon, officials said. No charges had been filed against him, police said.
