Report: Nick Barnett done for the season
Posted by Mike Florio on October 6, 2010 10:43 PM ET

Earlier tonight, Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Senintel reported that Packers linebacker Nick Barnett would miss the season if/when he has surgery to repair a wrist injury suffered on Sunday against the Lions.

Now, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Barnett is "out for the season." Schefter says that the injury is similar to the one that ended Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher's season in 2009.

The news caps a bad two days for Packers fans. First, they failed to land running back Marshawn Lynch. Then, receiver Randy Moss returned to the Vikings, where he'll team up with Brett Favre. Now, Barnett leaves a gaping hole in the second level of the Green Bay defense.

Shit, keep em coming. By my count that's 2 key players down and 1 promising rookie. Keep.Them.Coming, God.

I say Minnesota get's their momentum back with the addition of Moss and these injuries to Green Bay.

If he's indeed done for the year (I read earlier it would only be a few weeks before he came back) then how big of a blow to the Packers is this?

What kind of depth do they have at linebacker?

There's not much behind Barnett, it wouldn't surprise me if they signed someone.
