Report: Ex-Chargers LB Merriman overdoses

Retired Pro Bowl linebacker Shawne Merriman overdosed Sunday night after ingesting an unspecified combination of alcohol and a drug, sources with knowledge of the case told The Times.
The sources would not specify his condition.
Merriman, 29, was transported from The Colony in the 1700 block of N. Cahuenga Boulevard to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center around 9:30 p.m., according to law enforcement sources familiar with the incident.
Merriman's publicist denied the sources' account of an overdose.
“Shawne had been working on film in Canada and working out all day,” Denise White wrote in an email to FOXSports.com. “He just got off of a plane and landed back in L.A. He became dehydrated and felt ill. After being checked out, he was released a couple hours later and back in the same night club. Just fine.” Merriman's Twitter account was active early Monday morning.
