Report: Bills LB Kiko Alonso suffers torn ACL
Posted by Mike Wilkening on July 1, 2014, 10:21 PM EDT
It appears the Bills’ worries about linebacker Kiko Alonso’s knee injury were well-founded.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Alonzo is likely to miss the 2014 season after suffering a torn ACL.
Per Schefter, Alonso’s recovery timetable is 7-9 months.
Earlier Tuesday evening, Bills G.M. Doug Whaley announced Alonso had suffered a possibly “significant” knee injury in a workout.
One of the Bills’ top defensive players, Alonso was slated to play outside linebacker this season. Second-year pro Nigel Bradham and rookie Preston Brown could be among the internal candidates to fill in for the second-year pro from Oregon, who finished third in the NFL in tackles as a rookie, notching 159 stops.
