Ydnar - There's a new petition taking off on Change.org, and we think you might be interested in signing it:
Commissioner Roger Goodell: Commissioner Goodell, NFL referees should be subject to fines, suspensions and the same oversight of on-field conduct that all other game participants experience.

This is important for the integrity of the game. As football evolves and rules for player safety and on-field play change, so too must the consequences of inaction and inferior performance by the handful of individuals tasked to keep the game fair and properly managed. If an official bows a call, there simply must be consequences commensurate with the impact of the error committed.
I am writing as a concerned consumer about the abysmal state of refereeing in the National Football League. Poor officiating is effecting the quality of the product on the field, lowering fan morale and negatively and unfairly impacting the fortunes of NFL franchises. Beginning with the shocking no-call for pass interference in the end zone in last season's NFL Championship Game between the 49'ers and the Ravens, to the no-less than fourteen game-impacting referee errors in 2013's NFL regular season--several of which prompted responses or apologies from league officials--2013 has arguably been the worse year of officiating to date in the league's long and venerable history.
If players can be fined for wearing the wrong socks, or for not speaking to the media, and coaches can be fined for standing on the field of play, then referees, whose decisions and judgments hold the very game that we love in the balance, should be subject to the same penalties that all other game participants suffer.
Just one season removed from a pay hike, NFL officials clearly have regressed and the undersigned herein demand their negative actions and poor job performance be subject to fines and suspensions for errors made in the execution of their on-field duties as paid professionals.
NFL football fans should support this petition to ensure that accountability is evenly distributed in a league that values the importance of its brand and the opinions of the consumers who pay the salaries of players and officials with our patronage. By letting Commisioner know that blown calls are not acceptable we can affect change and improve the fan and game experience for everyone.
