LaRon Landry looked like one of the best safeties in football at times this year. The rest of the time, he didn’t look healthy or wasn’t on the field at all.

Landry’s season will now end on injured reserve because of a strained left Achilles’ tendon and strained groin, according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post. Landry ended last year on I.R. with similar problems. Rookie DeJuan Gomes will start in Landry’s place the rest of the way.

The sixth overall pick in the 2007 draft will be a free agent in the offseason. He’s only played 17 games over the last two years, so the Redskins may be able to retain Landry on a somewhat cheap short term deal. The franchise tag is also a possibility

It will be awesome next year when they take another top 10 safety.

I hate all things Redskins but I like Landry. He plays with anger (roid rage?) and is a presence out there. He's really improved on his awful coverage issues from the past few years.

I would take him over Elam and Sensabaugh every day.

Yeah... I'd cheer for him for the 5 games a year he'd play for us.

Maybe get Bob Sanders to play opposite him.

5 games of Pro Bowl level safety play vs 16 games of safeties who can't cover.

theogt?

not that big of a fan but look up any thread where someone got the bright "let's make Newman a FS guys" idea to see what I thought of corners being converted to FS for the most part.
