Redskins put Leonard Hankerson on IR

11/14/2011 3:03:18 PM | More

Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports Leonard Hankerson, the rookie wide receiver who had 106 yards on eight receptions Sunday against Miami will spend the rest of the season on injured reserve, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Monday.

Hankerson popped his hip out of joint in the fourth quarter, and tore his labrum. The joint popped back in by itself, Shanahan said, a subluxation of the hip as opposed to a dislocation.

I saw DeAngelo Hall get passed around by a bunch of Miami blockers on one Reggie Bush TD run. What a bitch.

As long as our DB's don't sleepwalk the skins shouldn't score more than 10. Especially with hankerson out. No easy bullshit big plays.

[h=1]Redskins re-sign Donte' Stallworth[/h]

ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Redskins have placed receiver Leonard Hankerson and defensive end Kedric Golston on injured reserve and re-signed receiver Donte' Stallworthand defensive end Darrion Scott.

Third-round pick Hankerson tore the labrum in his right hip, and Golston injured a pair of knee ligaments in Sunday's 20-9 loss to Miami.
Hankerson was hurt during his first 100-yard receiving game in the pros, while six-year veteran Golston has played in all nine games this season and was a regular part of the defensive line rotation.
Tuesday's moves make Hankerson and Golston the sixth and seventh Redskins players on IR this season.
Stallworth and Scott both were cut by the Redskins as part of a flurry of roster moves last week. Stallworth has five catches this season, while Scott has not played.
The team also waived safety Kareem Moore, who was on the physically unable to perform list with knee injury and has not played this season.

I'd take a look at Kareem Moore. He wasn't half bad last year: 64 tackles, 1 INT and 5 passes defensed. Was only drafted 3 years ago.

5 Questions for Redskins vs Cowboys

1. Will the Redskins cross the goal line? Scoring touchdowns is kind of important, after all. Washington has only one in its last 35 possessions — a span of 185 minutes, 5 seconds. Dallas, meanwhile, scored 44 points last week against a Buffalo defense that shut the Redskins out.

2. Can they establish an effective running game? Here are the Redskins’ rushing totals during their five-game losing streak: 42 yards, 92, 26, 52 and 61. There’s a trend there. The Redskins’ offense is crippled because it can’t run. The line must block better, and the backs must maximize lanes.

3. Will Rex Grossman avoid the negative big play? As we’ve come to know during Grossman’s short tenure, the negative play is always just around the corner. He must protect the ball by making good decisions and throwing it on time. Also, the line must protect him.

4. Which receivers will make a play? Now that rookie Leonard Hankerson is out, the Redskins are even thinner at the position. Jabar Gaffney and Anthony Armstrong could start. Do you think they scare the Cowboys?

5. Can the run defense build on last week’s strong game? The Redskins limited Miami last week to 3.1 yards per carry, the first time since Week 4 that mark has been under 4.2. Dallas rookie DeMarco Murray has averaged 6.7 yards on 100 carries this season. He’ll give the Redskins all they can handle.

I am curious why none of the media has mentioned.

Chris cooleys comments on romo
Rex Grossman and others leaving the field before the game was over and not shaking hands?

had romo left the field after a loss with time on the clock and didnt shake hands, the world would come to a standstill.

Injury report: Felix Jones questionable

November, 18, 2011
By Todd Archer

Cowboys running back Felix Jones went through his third straight day of limited practice and is listed as questionable on the injury report for Sunday’s game at Washington.

Jones is expected to play after missing the last four games with a high left ankle sprain suffered Oct. 16. What Jones’ role will be, however, is not clear. DeMarco Murray has rushed for 601 yards in Jones’ absence and the rookie running back will continue to be the starter.

Jones, who ran for 253 yards on 63 carries and caught 14 passes for 105 yards in the first four games, could be the third-down running back and also return kicks. He handled kick returns with a group of players in practice this week and averaged 24.2 yards a return in 2008-09.

Fullback Tony Fiammetta (illness), cornerback Mike Jenkins (hamstring) and wide receiver Miles Austin (hamstring) will not play Sunday. Jenkins will miss his third straight game but has hopes of playing on Thanksgiving against Miami. Austin will miss his second straight game and is expected to return in December.

Backup quarterback Jon Kitna (back) is doubtful after missing the last two days of practice, which would make Stephen McGee the No. 2 behind Tony Romo. Right guard Kyle Kosier is also questionable but has not misses a game this year.

Linebacker Sean Lee will play for the second straight game with a cast protecting his dislocated left wrist, as will punter Mat McBriar, who has a nerve problem in his left leg. They are listed as probable.
