Redskin on Cowboy Doug Free: He's not fast, but he works very hard

Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo talks about Dallas Cowboys left tackle Doug Free:

With Doug Free, he's a guy that's just a workhorse. He works very hard at his job. He's not the blessed guy with tremendous speed and whatnot for a left tackle but the thing about him is that he works very hard at what he does 100-percent and that's what gives him the edge over others. The guy is trying to step up and fill in for a great tackle in Flozell [Adams].

Really? Not fast? I tell you what... on the Felix 40 yard TD in the division title game against the Eagles, the very slow Doug Free led the charge all the way downfield. I've never seen Adams do that.

Why does it not surprise me that Orakpo is talking shit? I wonder if he forgot how the not-so-fast Free shut him down in both meeting?

I cannot stand this guy. He's another shit-talking loudmouth like Arrington. And just as overrated. At least to Arrington's credit he could cover at least marginally, and was decent against the run. Orakpo is just a bull-rushing pass rusher, with seemingly nothing else to his game..

I'm looking forward to this match up.

Same here. I don't get it. Everybody talking as to how Free has a tall order against Orakpo---a guy he shut down twice---funny as to how that never gets mentioned, but yet they downplay Trent Williams a rookie going up against Ware?

Maybe it's just me, but I like Fre's chances against Orakpo, moreso than Williams chances against Ware.

After Romo broke his ankles (when he thought he a free shot at Romo) and tossed the game winning TD to Crayton, you would think he would STFU until he at least had a good game against us.:******

The guy so far has not posted a single sack against the division. 4 of his 11 sacks came against the Raiders.

The guy is pretty much one-dimensional, and Redskins fans attacked me from all corners over that remark, but then they turn around and say that he struiggles against the run and is not great in coverage. They complained about Blache in having him drop back into coverage so much as opposed to rushing the passer. I tried to explain to them that Blache was trying to make him an all-around better football player and not just a pass rusher. So now Redskins' fans are bragging about how Orakpo is the "prototypical" LB, and he will not be dropping back into coverage as much. I tried to tell them that a 3-4 OLB does drop back into coverage and must be at elast solid against the run.

In other words - "I want to say the right thing here since we're playing them on Sunday, so I'll step lightly around his backup talent and talk about how hard he tries."

I agree.
