Shanahan: Robert Griffin III could have returned to game
Posted by Mike Wilkening on October 27, 2013, 8:50 PM EDT

From the early indications, it appears Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III’s left knee injury is not serious.

According to Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan in Washington D.C., head coach Mike Shanahan said Griffin was given the OK to return to the game by team medical personnel but was held out on account of Washington trailing by 17 points late in the fourth quarter.

Griffin suffered the injury when hit on a fourth-quarter pass that ended up as an interception.

Also, via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Dr. James Andrews told the network that Griffin was fine.

Griffin completed 15-of-30 passes for 132 yards with one TD and two interceptions in Washington’s 45-21 loss to Denver.

He's an awful QB if you make him pass. He throws the ball hard and can throw it a long way. But the odds of him hitting anything are not good.
