Bodies tend to hit the ground when Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick is involved in a play. Rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant incurred a damaging high left ankle sprain after getting tied up with Scandrick during a training-camp drill.
Scandrick took out an opposing player during Sunday's win against the New York Giants. Scandrick hounded Giants receiver Ramses Barden into an incompletion on a throw into the end zone during the second quarter. Barden emerged from the play with what the Giants said was a sprained ankle, and he did not return.
On Monday, the Giants said Barden torn a ligament in the left ankle on the play and will miss the remainder of the season. He is the second receiver the Giants have lost in four days. Steve Smith tore a pectoralis muscle during practice on Thursday and did not play against the Cowboys.
