a lot of people will disagree, its hard to powerrank a defense that allowed the second fewest points in 2009 then the second most in 2010

And yeah, everything gets a bit murky after that.

I think the sad thing is that at least based on 2010 stats, the other 8 players really were shatty.

I can't put Newman over Spencer. Newman did have the picks and the tackles but he was beaten like a drum far too often to be rated ahead of Spencer, who I admit didn't rush the passer well (enough), played the run very well and seemed to garner good grades for his pass coverage ability.

Newman's been better at his position than Spencer's been at his. He deserves to be ranked ahead of him.

Hell a lot of the blame for why Newman struggled this past year falls at the feet of Anthony Spencer. He didn't do his job, so Newman couldn't do his.

I'm still not sure if Spencer can be an elite player.

I've said it before and have been called out on it, but I think Spencer is overrated.

His best season he had what, six sacks? And 5 last year. I'll give him the benefit of a doubt this year, but I think he'll bring an average game again this year.

15.5 sacks in four years isn't impressive.
