IRVING, Texas -- Jason Garrett is not much of a big picture guy when it comes to where the Cowboys stand in the playoff chase, but he admitted he talked about the postseason to his team on Tuesday.

“In a real quick way we did,” Garrett said. “We still control our own destiny. I think our players understand that, but we have to get back to focusing on being ready each and every day and our preparation for Tampa.”

So while he talked about how the Cowboys can make the playoffs – win their final threegames and win the NFC East – he also reiterated his “be great today” message. He was a little more emphatic with that by handing out t-shirts to the team with that saying.

“We don’t worry about the last two weeks, we’re not worrying about two weeks from now,” linebacker Keith Brooking said. “We’re worried about today and preparing each day this week t beat Tampa Bay. That’s the way you look at it. Obviously we were leading our division. Our backs are against the wall, however you want to break it down, but we’ll keep our blinders on, stay focused and work about the task at hand. That’s beating Tampa Bay. We obviously face a little bit of adversity but that’s life. Real men step up to the plate and grab the bat and they swing it. They don’t step up there and sacrifice bunt. You’re going to get our best.”
