The Cowboys didn't draft a defensive lineman but strongly indicated they'll be in the market for one when free agency begins.
That's fine. Now who's exactly out there?
Remember that this is a 3-4 defense, so 260-pound, 4-3 defensive ends like Mathias Kiwanuka, Ray Edwards and even Charles Johnson aren't big enough to put their hand on the ground in a base front. The best ends who might -- might -- come available are 30-somethings like Cullen Jenkins and Shaun Ellis. Ex-Cowboy Kenyon Coleman was fairly productive for Rob Ryan in Cleveland.
The point is, are there many options better than their current trio of Marcus Spears, Stephen Bowen and Jason Hatcher?
Now, if they wanted to sign a nose tackle and rotate Jay Ratliff to defensive end some, there might be more depth in that market. I doubt Haloti Ngata will leave Baltimore, but Aubrayo Franklin and Brandon Mebane might be available.
