Rookie safety Colt Anderson made a strong impression in eight regular-season games with Philadlephia. He was twice awarded a game-ball and was the special-teams captain for the Eagles' brief playoff run.

Anderson told the Montana Standard newspaper, in Butte, Mont., that he nearly joined the Dallas Cowboys this season.

Anderson was with Minnesota's practice squad in early November when Philadelphia called, offering a spot on its 53-man roster. Anderson was on his way to the airport for a flight to Philadelphia on Nov. 10 when his agent called.

"He said `You're never going to guess who called. The Cowboys want to sign you,' '' Anderson said. "It was cool to know other teams out there wanted you."

Anderson said he went to Philadlephia because he believed the Eagles gave him a better chance at getting playing time. On that same day, the Cowboys signed a pair of defensive linemen: Jeremy Clark and Jimmy Saddler-McQueen. They added a safety with special-teams skills, Andrew Sendejo, two weeks later.

So what? We signed Danny McCray, also a safety, as an undrafted rookie and he lead the team in special teams tackles.

White safeties can't play. Haven't you guys learned anything from Lynn Scott??
