Per Laufenberg- Cowboys want Fangio

Said Todd Bowles isnt getting the DC job, and that they want Vic Fangio.

Fangio was Dom Capers DC at Carolina and Indy. I had assumed he'd follow Harbaugh to SF but maybe money will be a factor.

Fangio is well versed in the zone blitz scheme, and he was just awarded coordinator of the yr in college football for his work at Stanford.

I'm not sure why Harbaugh would not take him with to SF. He hand picked him at Stanford after trying for two years.

I wasnt sure either, seems like a logical move.

I was reading on one of the SF boards though that supposedly Fangio and Harbaugh dont get along that great. Neuheisel was trying very hard to hire Fangio as well and there was talk that even had Harbaugh stayed at Stanford, Fangio might have left for UCLA.

I would think if money because an issue that Jerry could pay Fangio more than SF could, as most thought SF wouldnt be able to compete money-wise for Harbaugh.
