Things could get interesting on Sunday at Mall of America Field between two of the NFL's most disappointing teams in Cowboys and Vikings.
Last year's playoff game is the starting point.
On Wednesday, defensive end Ray Edwards said Cowboys right tackle Marc Colombo "is kind of dirty." On Thursday defensive tackle Pat Williams came out against Keith Brooking, who lit into the Vikings for their final touchdown with 1:55 to play while leading 27-3, calling it classless and that the Cowboys will remember that when the regular-season meeting comes.
Well, it's here this week.
"We don't care what Brooking says," Williams told Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "If he's still talking about last year that's his bad because last year is last year and we ain't worried about. If he wants to cry like a little baby, he'll cry like a little baby but we aren't worried about what he's saying."
Actually, Brooking has been quiet this week about last year's comments because at 1-3 he feels like the Cowboys have more important things to worry about.
On Wednesday, Wade Phillips was asked about that last touchdown.
"People can do what they want," Phillips said. "That's what they chose to do. It's not something I would've done."
Williams was surprised the Cowboys even complained.
"Yeah because this is the NFL, it ain't Pop Warner, it ain't high school," Williams said. "This is the pros. I figure if they were so good they would have stopped us from scoring but they didn't."
