OXNARD, Calif. -- Even though he has not been his coach since 2006, Tony Romo has some regular contact with Bill Parcells, mainly by text.
Parcells reminded Romo of the QB's decision to sign with the Cowboys as an undrafted rookie free agent, with their $10,000 signing bonus, and not Denver, which was offering $25,000 to sign, and some others.
“But I chose Dallas to hopefully make the team,” Romo said. “Bill was instrumental in me getting here. On the phone, he sent me a text after [the contract extension] that [said], ‘I was just wondering if coming to Dallas had worked out for you.’ I had to laugh. It was pretty funny.”
