Garrett responds to Cowher saying Cowboys displayed ‘defeatist attitude’ in the desert

Jason Garrett firmly believes the Cowboys are an aggressive team.
But at least one former Super Bowl champion coach disagrees with him.
Bill Cowher, the former Steelers mentor and current CBS analyst, said in a radio interview with SIRIUS, that Garrett showed a “defeatist attitude” in his clock management decisions in the 19-13 overtime loss at Arizona and that he was “totally mystified” by the coach’s decisions.
Garrett responded Wednesday by saying, “If anything we are a very aggressive team in all areas. We will continue to be that way. That’s the way we believe you have to play. I’m not concerned about that one bit.”
Garrett said he decided to let Dan Bailey kick a 49-yard field goal rather than call a timeout with about 25 seconds left in regulation to run a few more playscloser because he had confidence in Bailey and was fearful an extra play or two would result in lost yardage.
Cowher scoffed at that explanation.
“Championship teams don’t think about what they don’t do,” Cowher said. “They think about what they can do.”
