Orakpo: Redskins want to get to Romo just like they would any QB
Tony Romo has a fractured rib and a punctured lung. Everyone knows it, including the Redskins.
Washington will be expected to get after Romo on Monday night, trying to hit him early and often. But Redskins outside linebacker Brian Orakpo said it won't be any different than any other week. They hit Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb early and often last week.
Orakpo was asked on a conference call Wednesday if Romo's ribs had a bull's eye on them.
"Obviously, you can think of it like that," Orakpo told the Cowboys media contingent at Valley Ranch. "If somebody gets injured, you want to go after that injury. But we’re just going to play our game. We’re going to try to get Romo down when we can. We’re not just going to target the ribs and forget about not trying to get the ball out or forget about not trying to get him down. Nah, we’re just going to try to the best we can of getting him down and getting off the field."
